Prairie Switch Wind provides a reliable energy source to the Texas electric grid and brings significant long-term investment to the Wharton County community.

This wind project supplements traditional energy sources that the County has relied upon for decades, while co-existing with ongoing agricultural activities. The project’s landowner lease payments and the creation of local employment opportunities boost local economic development.

Community partnership is embedded in the project. Throughout the development process, the project team contributed to many local community organizations and charitable efforts, including Hesed House of Wharton County, the Wharton County Stray Pet Outreach Team, and OakBend Medical Center expansion project.
